The Labbé Point (English; Spanish Punta Labbé ) is a headland on the southern tip of Basso Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . In Discovery Bay on Greenwich Island , it marks the northern limit of the Ensenada Basullo and the eastern limit of the Ensenada Vinett .
Participants of the 1st Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1946–1947) named the headland after Custodio Labbé Lippi († 1998), navigator of the transport ship Angamos on this research trip . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 2005.
