Lac Poncheville is a lake in the regional county town of Jamésie in the North du Québec administrative region of the Canadian province of Québec .
The lake is located 60 km northeast of Matagami on the southern edge of the catchment area of the Rivière Broadback . The Lac au Goéland , located 15 km to the south, is already part of the catchment area of the Rivière Nottaway . The water of Lac Poncheville flows north over the neighboring lakes Lac Opataouaga and Lac Quénonisca to Rivière Broadback and James Bay . The Lac Poncheville is 39 km long, up to 7 km wide and has an area of 130 km².
In 1963 the water was named after Charles Thellier de Poncheville (1875-1956).
