Lachlan Morton (born January 2, 1992 in Port Macquarie ) is an Australian cyclist .
Career
Lachlan Morton won the 2010 Canadian junior stage race Tour de l'Abitibi plus two stages. In 2011 he joined the Chipotle Development Team . At the end of 2012, Morton became a stagiaire at Garmin-Sharp . There he got his professional contract and drove there for another two years. During this time he won the junior competitions at the USA Pro Challenge and the Tour of Utah , where he also won a stage.
In 2015 he joined the Jelly Belly-Maxxis team. In 2016, Morton won the overall ranking of the Tour of Utah and the Tour of the Gila in the USA . In the stage races, he also added a stage.
In 2017 he moved to the South African team Dimension Data . At the 2017 California Tour , he won the junior ranking and was seventh overall. He also competed in the Vuelta a España 2017 , his first Grand Tours in his career, which he finished in 90th place. At the Tour of Austria 2018 , Morton finished fourth on the sixth stage and fifth on the eighth stage.
In 2019 he returned to EF Education First-Drapac powered by Cannondale .
