Lady Chatterley is a film drama with erotic elements from 2006 based on the novel Lady Chatterley's Lover by DH Lawrence from 1928.
action
Lady Chatterley is bored in the remote castle, as her only job is to look after her husband, who has returned from the First World War partially paralyzed after a war injury . She feels overwhelmed by this task in the long run and hires a nurse for the care. Now she uses the freedom to explore the hunting grounds of the property. In doing so, she meets the gamekeeper Parkin, who initially proves to be solitary and dismissive towards her.
Nevertheless, the two get closer and a sexual relationship develops that is shaped by playful exploration, Lady Chatterley's desire for children and the desire of the gamekeeper.
In the course of the story, however, both characters go through a fundamental change: Lady Chatterley falls deeply in love with the initially rude gamekeeper, who, however, triggered by her openness and impartiality towards his lower social position, acts increasingly tender and playful.
The relationship is getting more serious, and Sir Clifford, Lady Chatterley's husband, seems to suspect it.
Reviews
“Both Connie and Parkin get to know each other as well as themselves, especially in the numerous, sensual and sometimes quite explicit sex scenes - and not only physically. Ferran's direction is subtle and complex enough that this revival story never comes close to a banal or esoteric fantasy of redemption. The seemingly insurmountable social barrier that separates the two main characters and that formed the basis for most of the previous films is a lot more complex here. "
Awards
