Laeva (German: Laiwa or Laewa ) is a rural community in the Estonian district of Tartu with an area of 233.18 km². It has 881 inhabitants (January 1, 2006).
Laeva was first mentioned in a document in 1295. In addition to the main town of Laeva (506 inhabitants), the rural municipality includes the villages of Kämara, Kärevere , Siniküla, Valmaotsa and Väänikvere.
In the 18th and early 19th centuries, Laeva was known for its glass production. The nature reserve of Alam-Pedja (7831 hectares) with its moorland is located in the municipality of Laeva.
