The Laguna Nuevo Mundo is a lake on the border between the Beni department and the Santa Cruz department in the lowlands of Bolivia , about 125 km southeast of Trinidad , the capital of the Beni department. The northern part of the lake belongs to the municipality (district) of San Andrés in the province of Marbán , the southern part to the municipality of El Puente in the province of Guarayos .

The lake is located at a height of 175  m in the alluvial plain of the Llanos de Guarayos , between the Bolivian Río Grande in the southwest and the Río Ibare in the northeast, both of which drain towards the Río Mamoré . The Laguna Nuevo Mundo has a length of almost 12 kilometers and a width of 7 kilometers, its total area is 57.6 km², its shore length is 31 kilometers.

Due to the seasonal fluctuations and in the southern summer quite high precipitation, the lowlands around the Laguna Nuevo Mundo are exposed to seasonal flooding, so that the population density of the region is well below 0.5 inhabitants / km².
