Until the administrative reforms after the Liberal Revolution in 1822 and the Miguelistenkrieg that followed in 1834 , Lajes remained a municipality in the Tourais district . Since its dissolution in the middle of the 19th century, Lajes has belonged to the Seia district.
administration
Lajes was a parish ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Seia , in the Guarda district . On June 30, 2011 the community had 273 inhabitants in an area of 4.7 km².
As part of the administrative reorganization in Portugal , the municipality was dissolved on September 29, 2013 and merged with Tourais to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Tourais e Lajes . The seat of the new municipality was Tourais, but the municipal administration in Lajes was retained as a citizens' office.
