Girabolhos is a town and municipality in Portugal .

history

At the time of the Moorish rule there was probably a small settlement here. In the royal registers of 1527 no town was listed here. The earliest mentions of the current town come from the 17th century. The Capela da Senhora da Cabeça chapel, which is now a listed building, dates from 1640.

The municipality of Girabolhos belonged to the Tourais County, only to be a municipality in the Seia County since its dissolution in the mid-19th century.
