Teixeira is a town and municipality in Portugal .

history

The place probably originated when two shepherds built huts here. Probably two districts were formed after discrepancies between the two, namely the upper Teixeira de Cima and the lower Teixeira de Baixo. Teixeira was in 1514 the first town charter by King D. Manuel I . It was then a municipality of the Loriga district until its dissolution in 1855. Since then, Teixeira has been an independent municipality of Seias. The parish was dissolved in 1888, according to other sources in 1900 or only in 1911, and incorporated into Vide before it became a separate parish again in 1946.
