Farm workers' council (Hundisburg)
The Landarbeiterkate at Magdeburger Straße 16 is a listed former residential building for agricultural workers in the Hundisburg district of the city of Haldensleben in Saxony-Anhalt . The building , which is still used today as a residential building, is entered in the local monument register under registration number 094 50042 as an important cultural and socio-historical monument .
After Hermann von Nathusius took over Hundisburg Castle from his father in the early 1830s , he expanded the associated agricultural estate into an early model estate . As part of the construction of a large lower courtyard at the foot of the castle hill, the farm workers' cottage , which combined living space and stable under one roof, was also built. It is located on Magdeburger Strasse near the former Unterhof, separated from it by Boitzgasse . Here the access road to the castle branches off from Magdeburger Strasse .
The single-storey building is a half-timbered brick building with a simple design language and a gable roof . Due to its prominent location on the driveway to the castle courtyard, the cottage is of considerable importance for the street and townscape. It is in a very good state of preservation and delivery, so it is of documentary value from the point of view of monument protection.
