The State Office for Finance North Rhine-Westphalia (abbreviated: LaFin NRW) is a higher state authority that reports to the Ministry of Finance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . The State Office for Finance performs a variety of tasks, but is not active in the area of tax administration and should not be confused with a tax office .

history

In September 2013, the LaFin NRW was merged with the projects remaining in the Finance Ministry of North Rhine-Westphalia after the state office for personnel deployment management (LPEM) was dissolved, the state treasury , which was previously located in the Düsseldorf district government , and the EPOS.NRW Competence, which is currently located in the finance ministry Center (CC EPOS.NRW), which carries out the EPOS.NRW project , was created.

In 2019, the state main treasury located at the Ministry of Finance of North Rhine-Westphalia became part of the State Office for Finance. The Landeskasse Düsseldorf was transferred to the state main treasury at the same time.

Hanns-Lothar Endell headed the office from its founding in 2013 to March 31, 2019. Since April 1, 2019, the State Office for Finance has been headed by Wolfgang Pohl.

EPOS.NRW

The State Office for Finance performs nationwide tasks in the field of budget, cash and accounting in the state. Its task is to maintain and further develop the booking and management system , which was acquired as part of the EPOS.NRW project (introduction of product budgets for output-oriented control - new accounting) and adapted to the needs of the state administration, as well as services for the offices of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia to be provided as part of the introduction and area operation of the new accounting system.

State main treasury

The Landeshauptkasse is part of the State Office for Finance and carries out its own and the previous tasks of the Landeskasse Düsseldorf in accordance with Section 79 Paragraph 1 Number 1 of the State Budget Code .
