The Landesverband Rechter Niederrhein in the Bund Deutscher Karneval e. V. ( LRN ) is the amalgamation of all carnival clubs on the right Lower Rhine north of Düsseldorf . It includes all carnival clubs and communities, as well as individual members, supporting members and the individual city and district committees in Duisburg , Oberhausen , Essen , Ratingen and in the parts of the Wesel and Kleve districts on the right bank of the Rhine . The association is based in Duisburg.

The association is a member of the Bund Deutscher Karneval e. V. (BDK) and in the Foolish European Community (NEG). The association establishes contact between the BDK and the affiliated associations of the LRN.

The carnival in Germany is organized in the same way as the sports clubs , which are also organized in city and district associations as well as in state associations nationwide.

The main purpose of the association is the “promotion of carnival customs”, which includes the promotion of the organization of carnival meetings, street carnivals and carnival offspring.

The regional associations maintain the carnival on a traditional and regional basis. The regional association is the representation of the BDK in the area of ​​the association. He advises and helps the carnival associations, maintains contacts with politics and the public. He attaches particular importance to the promotion of tournaments for carnival performances and maintains an extensive archive for the documentation of the carnival tradition in the association area.

The LRN was founded on May 31, 1968 in Mülheim an der Ruhr and had 71 members when it was founded.

President is Dirk Bonkhoff, managing director is Patricia Adamski.
