Lake Constance-Upper Swabia Landscape Park
The Landscape Park Bodensee-Oberschwaben is a project of the regional association Bodensee-Oberschwaben , which is responsible for regional planning for the area of the Bodenseekreis as well as the districts of Ravensburg and Sigmaringen .
history
The foundations for the current development concept were laid in 1999/2000. Numerous individual facets of spatial development, the basic procedure and the necessary organizational form were discussed in several internal workshops. These basic preliminary considerations were completed in mid-2001. A concept was developed, projects initiated and checked for feasibility, existing projects integrated and further developed, and an overall spatial concept designed.

Under the leadership of the Bodensee-Oberschwaben Regional Association, the Bodensee-Oberschwaben Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), the Ravensburg District Economic and Innovation Development Corporation (WIR GmbH) and the Friedrichshafen Region Economic Development Corporation (WFG Region Friedrichshafen mbH) were also won as partners.
aims
The “Landscape Park Bodensee-Oberschwaben” initiative is intended to promote the future development of this area in terms of ecological , economic and social sustainability. The aim is to initiate projects to secure and develop open spaces on the basis of a coordinated "regional open space concept". This is not about a park in the sense of a conservation protection, but about the meaningful further development of existing structures into a permanently usable and tangible cultural landscape .
In an accompanying project group and a steering committee, made up of experts from the administration as well as politically responsible persons, the project ideas are checked for their feasibility and prepared accordingly for implementation or funding. For this purpose, a hiking map on a scale of 1: 30,000 has already been created, which, in addition to the regional and local hiking trail network of the landscape park, also contains information on the transport infrastructure and the tourist infrastructure.
