The landscape protection area Boekzeteler Meer and the surrounding area is a landscape protection area in parts of the districts of Aurich and Leer in the federal state of Lower Saxony . In the Aurich area it bears the number LSG AUR 00021 and the number LSG LER 00020 in the empty part.

Description of the area

The landscape protection area, designated by the district of Aurich on September 20, 1966, covers an area of ​​0.37 square kilometers. These are located in the district of Leer in the area of ​​the municipality of Moormerland (districts Hatshausen and Boekzetelerfehn ) and in the district of Aurich in the municipality of Großefehn (district of Timmel ). The landscape protection area is located in the transition area between Marsch and Geest . It is characterized by low grassland and fen . It is traversed by channel-like lows , especially the Bagbander Tief, and otherwise fed by groundwater . It is bordered to the west by Landesstraße 14. There it stretches from the bridge over the Fehntjer Tief to the confluence of the Klosterweg in Hatshausen. In the south, the Klosterweg forms the border to the Aufschlagsweg, in the east and north the Aufschlagsweg, the Boekzetelerfehn Canal, the Jheringsfehn Canal and the Bagbander Tief limit the area. In the north and west it reaches again to the bridge over the Fehntjer Tief to the road no. 14. In addition, there is the southern part of the Timmeler Meer . The nature reserve Boekzeteler Meer is embedded .
