relief

The LSG is in large parts a very flat alluvial plain (29.5 to 31 m above sea level ), which was essentially formed by the floods as a result of the Havel dam in Brandenburg an der Havel since the 13th century. Individual low ground moraine plates , especially in the eastern part, as well as compression moraines ( Götzer Berg 108 m, Eichelberg near Deetz 89 m) rise from the lowland.

Land use

The area of the LSG (the settlement areas are not included) is subject to use as largely meliorated arable and grassland areas. Since the water level of the Havel is usually higher, the surrounding land is protected by dams and the drainage takes place via pumping stations . Fruit plantations are widespread on the ground moraines in the eastern part . Pine forest is essentially only to be found on the terminal moraine elevations.
