The Landwind X6 (four-door) and Landwind X9 (two-door), initially Jiangling Landwind is a sport utility vehicle from Jiangling Motors from the People's Republic of China .

The models

The Landwind is a replica of the Isuzu Rodeo from the years 1991 to 1997 as well as its sister model Opel Frontera . Only the front section has been redesigned.

It is equipped as the Landwind X6 with a five-door station wagon and as the Landwind X9 with a two-door body and a vehicle roof that can be opened above the rear. The Landwind X9 is therefore comparable to the Opel Frontera Sport.

At first the car was called Jiangling Landwind. "Landwind" has since become a separate brand of Jiangling Motors, so that the two models are simply called Landwind X6 and Landwind X9. In the US, the long version is sold as the Landwind GV6 or Landwind Fitch.

The ADAC criticizes the 11.6 liter super high consumption and very poor workmanship.

Motors and drive

As engine variants, a 2.0-liter and 2.4-liter are four cylinder - Otto engine and a 2.8 liter four-cylinder diesel engine available. The gasoline engines come from Mitsubishi, the diesel is made by Isuzu. The Landwind X9 is not offered with the 2.0 liter engine.

The land wind has rear-wheel drive . All models are optionally available with all-wheel drive .

safety

According to the ADAC , the land wind performed relatively poorly in crash tests. In a frontal crash at 64 km / h, the passenger cell was severely deformed. Even in the event of a side impact at higher speeds, the occupants would suffer severe head injuries. Other deficiencies found by the ADAC are increased tendency to roll, imprecise steering, no ESP, long braking distances and no ABS. The land wind does not yet meet the high European safety standards. For this reason, approval within the EU is only possible through individual approval or, for the larger model, because the EU regulations on crash tests only apply to cars with a total weight of up to 2500 kg.

Peter Bijvelds, European importer of the Landwind, announced at a press conference in The Hague in early October 2005 that the Landwind had been tested again by the TÜV and the results were very encouraging. He also said that in future everything would be done to comply with European standards.

Standard equipment

The Landwind has a spacious body, air conditioning , leather seats, light alloy wheels, radio with CD player and many other comfort and equipment features as standard .

Others

The land wind is not officially exported to Europe. The Dutch ex-racing driver Peter Bijvelds has, however, secured the import rights for all of Europe and is selling the vehicle at prices starting at around 15,000 euros in the Netherlands and Belgium . The Landwind is one of the cheap offers in its class.
