The Order of Merit for Agriculture ( Romanian Ordin Meritul Agricol ) was founded on April 12, 1932 by King Carol II of Romania and was intended to reward people who have made merits in the field of the development and promotion of agriculture for the Kingdom of Romania had acquired. A loan to foreigners was possible.

Classes

The order consists of four classes and the number of Romanian members was regulated:

Order decoration

The medal is a silver, gold-plated, moss green enamelled cross . In the middle of the cross is the raised and mirrored initial C (Carol), which is surmounted by a crown . A gilded, highly oval wreath , made of ears of wheat (right) and oak leaves (left), rests all around the medal . The knight's medal is without gilding.

After Mihai I ascended the throne , the initial on the medal was changed to MI in 1940 .

Carrying method

The Grand Officer and Commander wore the medal of the neck , while Grand Officers also wore a breast star . This breast star is an enlarged order symbol with bundles of rays that fill in the cross angles. The officer and knight decorated the order on the ribbon on the left side of the chest.

The ribbon is dark green with six narrow yellow stripes.
