The house at Lange Gasse 16 is a listed building in Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

The building, registered as a residential building in the Quedlinburg monument register, is located in the Westendorf district of Quedlinburg, east of the Schloßberg. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . To the east is the also listed building at Lange Gasse 17 .

Architecture and history

The narrow, towering half-timbered house was built by the carpenter Martin Lange according to a building inscription in 1693 . The inscription MARTIN LANGE ZM refers to him . Noteworthy is the dwelling that occupies the entire width of the house . It originally had a mechanism for lifting goods.

The half-timbered facade is decorated with ship throats and pyramid beam heads. The existing decorative lining of the compartments is more recent .
