Architecture and history

The two-storey half - timbered house was built according to a building inscription in 1614. It has a high basement with an integrated mezzanine . The upper floor juts out. The threshold is lavishly decorated. Particularly noteworthy are the parapet panels with carved ornaments. The carvings also show handicraft coats of arms with compasses, hatchets, angles and hooks as well as the initials F. G. and WG. Based on the latter initials, it is sometimes assumed that Wulf Götze was built . As is customary with older inscriptions in Quedlinburg, the inscription is raised from the wood. The building is covered by a steep gable roof in which a dwelling is inserted.

Together with the house at Breite Straße 39, the house is one of the most important half-timbered houses of the early 17th century in Quedlinburg.
