The Langhammer-Villa , also Villa Seibert , is a listed building in Weinbergweg 6 in Saarbrücken .

history

The steel construction manufacturer Bernhard Seibert had the architect Hans Weszkalnys build a representative villa in neo-baroque shapes in 1924/25 . The interior was also done in the neo-baroque style and a baroque pleasure garden was designed on the slope behind the house.

architecture

The single-storey castle with a mansard hipped roof has an elongated rectangular floor plan. The entrance is dominated by a mighty Söller resting on columns . You enter this on the mansard floor via a three-axis central projection . This is crowned by a large triangular gable with a transverse oval window and gable cornice. The risalit also has a protruding eaves cornice that is heavily profiled. The eight lattice windows on the first floor are under a high eaves cornice. The eight windows of the attic are decorated with a triangular roof. The white and red speckled sandstone of the window reveals and window sills is striking. The eaves cornice is also made of sandstone above the windows, as is the flooring with the square corner pillars, the two central round pillars with Ionic capitals and the pilasters .

The back of the building is very similar to the street side. However, there are only three window axes on both sides of the central projection. Instead of the Söller, a semicircular canyon is built in front of the risalit . The two gable sides on the ground floor also have semicircular luminaires that can be accessed via dormer windows.
