Langley is a small port town at the southern end of Whidbey Island in the US state of Washington with 1,055 inhabitants (as of April 1, 2006) , which was founded in the 19th century by Jacob Anthes, who was born in Groß-Gerau .

In summer, the place attracts a number of tourists with its numerous water sports and its views of the Olympics and the Cascades . A ferry runs every half hour between Whidbey Island and Mukilteo on the mainland, which is about 20 km from Seattle .
