The Langtang Ri (also written Langthang Ri in German-language texts ) is located in the Langtang Himal , a mountain range in the Central Himalayas north of the Langtang Khola river valley in the Nepalese administrative zone of Bagmati .
The 7,205 m high mountain is located in the far northeast of the Langtang National Park on the border with the People's Republic of China . The eight-thousander Shishapangma is 10.2 km east-southeast of Langtang Ri. On its northeast flank is a tributary glacier of the Phurephu glacier . Langtang Ri is considered the 106th highest mountain on earth.
Ascent history
The first ascent was achieved by a Japanese expedition (Noboru Yamada, Makihiro Wakao and Soichi Nasu, and Ang Rinji Sherpa) on October 10, 1981.
