The Lanzenbach is a left tributary of the Weißach in Bavaria and about seven kilometers long.

course

The brook rises west of the Hohen Häderich near the Gschlötter Alm . The river bank is surrounded by small forests and pastures. Between the Spitzlerberg and the Imbergkamm southeast of Steibis it flows into the Weißach.

Sawmill

Until the middle of the 20th century , the Lanzenbach drove a sawmill near the confluence with the Weißach. The timber harvests from the lush forests of the surrounding mountain ranges and the valleys in between were preprocessed in it. Thus it made a not insignificant contribution to the economic efficiency of the former municipality of Aach . Modern wood processing techniques and the expansion of the traffic routes make the operation of the plant unprofitable in our time.

This plateau between the Nagelfluhkette ( Imbergkamm and Hochgratkette ) is drained by the Lanzenbach and can be regarded as its area of origin.
