Lara González Ortega (born February 22, 1992 in Santa Pola ) is a Spanish handball player .

Career

Lara González Ortega played until 2012 at the Spanish club CB Elche , with them in the 2009/10 season at the EHF Cup participated. Then the 1.84 meter tall backcourt player moved to the French first division team Metz Handball . With Metz she reached the final of the EHF Cup in 2013 , where Metz was defeated by the Danish team Tvis Holstebro , and won the French Cup in 2013 and 2015 and the championship in 2013 and 2014. In the 2015/16 season she was under contract with the Hungarian first division club Siófok KC . She then joined the Danish first division team Esbjerg . With Esbjerg she won the Danish Cup in 2017. She has been under contract with French first division club Entente Sportive Bisontine Féminin since the 2018/19 season .

González Ortega is part of the Spanish national team , for which she has so far played 121 international matches and with which she won the silver medal at the 2014 European Championships in Hungary and Croatia . She took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . At the 2019 World Cup , she won the silver medal with the Spanish selection.
