Larry Fortensky

Lawrence Lee Fortensky (mostly: Larry Fortensky ; born January 17, 1952 in Stanton , California, † July 7, 2016 in Fontana , California) was an American construction worker who owes his fame to his marriage to Elizabeth Taylor .

Life

Fortensky attended Pacifica High School in Garden Grove and served in the US Army in the Vietnam War in 1972 . Before meeting Taylor, he was married and divorced twice. A daughter comes from the first marriage.

Fortensky and Taylor met in 1988 while on withdrawal therapy at the Betty Ford Center . The couple married on October 6, 1991 at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch , but they divorced on October 31, 1996. Fortensky was Taylor's seventh husband and her eighth marriage ( she was married twice to Richard Burton ).

In 1998, Fortensky hit the headlines again when he was temporarily detained after assaulting his girlfriend. In 1999 he suffered serious injuries when he fell down stairs.

He died of skin cancer .
