Lawrence "Larry" Livermore (born October 28, 1947 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American musician , record producer and music journalist .

Life

In 1984 Livermore began reporting on the punk scene in California for Lookout magazine, which he edited . A year later he founded The Lookouts , a punk band with Tré Cool and Kain Kong , which existed until 1990.

In 1987 he founded the Lookout label with his David Hayes ! Records , with which Operation Ivy (band) , Rancid and Green Day were among others under contract. In 1997 Livermore sold the record company.

In his work as a music journalist, he wrote for Maximum RocknRoll from 1987 to 1994 and for Punk Planet from 1994 to 2007 . Since 2008 he has published in Verbicide magazine .

Livermore currently lives in Brooklyn , a borough of New York .
