Lars Herrmann (* 1965 in Potsdam ) was a German child actor who as a leading actor in a DEFA - children's film has been known.

Life

Herrmann was born in Potsdam in 1965 as the son of a surveyor . At the age of six he was standing in front of the camera and played in the TV movie He, She, It by Rainer bear the foster child Stefan. This was followed by small roles in the television series to Clown Ferdinand and a supporting role in the youth film love with 16 of Herrmann Zschoche .

In 1976 Hans Kratzert cast him in the lead role of Ottokar Domma in the children's film Ottokar the do-gooder . In the episode film based on stories by the writer Otto Hauser , the then eleven-year-old Herrmann played a student who wanted to take action against injustices in the world, but who usually got into trouble himself. Filming lasted almost three months. Ottokar the do-gooder had its premiere on July 7th, 1977 on the open-air stage of the children's holiday camp Dresenower Mühle on Plauer See . As a result, it also ran at numerous international children's film festivals. In the FRG it was shown on October 13, 1977 at the Mannheim IFF. With over a million viewers, the film was one of the most successful films by director Kratzert. Herrmann was praised by the critics for his "heartwarming game".

Although Herrmann would have liked to work in the film sector, he trained as a plumber, later became an occupational therapist and works as a truck driver. The passionate sailor Herrmann lives in Potsdam, is divorced and has a daughter and a son.
