Lars Gustav Lewén (born October 7, 1975 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish freestyle skier in the discipline of ski cross and ski racer .

Career

Lewén took part in alpine FIS races from August 1994 , of which he won a total of twelve in the following years. In 1998 and 1999 he took part in European Cup races, where he was classified five times in the points (Top 30). His greatest successes in the alpine area were winning the gold medal in the downhill and the silver medal in the Super-G at the Universiade in 1999 and the Swedish championship title in the combination in 2002 . He contested the last alpine races in March 2003.

Lewén made his debut at the Freestyle World Cup on November 30, 2002, and immediately finished fifth in Tignes . The first podium placement followed on November 23, 2003 with third place in Saas-Fee . At the end of the 2003/04 season and in the winter of 2004/05 he achieved two more third places. He finished fifth at both the 2005 World Cup in Ruka and the 2007 World Cup in Madonna di Campiglio .

Lewén had his most successful season in the winter of 2007/08. After a cautious start, he won three consecutive races in March 2008: in Grindelwald , Hasliberg and Valmalenco . So he finished second in the ski cross discipline of the World Cup behind the Czech Tomáš Kraus . Lewén was similarly successful in the World Cup winter 2008/09 with two victories in Lake Placid and Branäs and third place in the discipline ranking. In the 2009/10 season, a second place was his best result.

Lewén ended his active career after the 2013/14 season .
