Lars Olav Olaussen (born June 15, 1977 in Vestby / Norway) is a Norwegian handball goalkeeper . He plays for the Norwegian top club Drammen HK (shirt number 12) and for the Norwegian men's national handball team (shirt number 22). He is 1.93 m tall and weighs 96 kg.
Lars Olav Olaussen started playing handball in his hometown at Vestby HK. Later he moved to the next largest club Follo HK, in 1997 then to the national top club and then champion Drammen HK , for which he also made his debut in the first Norwegian league. With the men from the province of Buskerud , he won the Norwegian championship again in 2007, exactly ten years after the last success, and was in the final of the European City Cup . When Olaussen, who works full-time as a key account manager , was offered a position in Stockholm by his employer in 2007 , he accepted it and at the same time signed a contract with the Swedish master Hammarby IF. In 2009 he rejoined Drammen HK.
Lars Olav Olaussen has so far played 51 international matches for the Norwegian men's national handball team. Mostly he is only third choice in the Norwegian goal behind Steinar Ege and Ole Erevik . Olaussen also took part in the men's handball world championship in Germany in 2007 with Norway , but his team only finished in a disappointing 13th place.
