Ole Erevik (born January 9, 1981 in Stavanger , Norway ) is a Norwegian handball player . He is 1.96 m tall and weighs 93 kg.
Ole Erevik, who plays for the Norwegian men's national handball team (back number 12), is the goalkeeper .
Erevik started playing handball in his hometown of Stavanger. He also made his debut for Stavanger Håndball in the Norwegian Elite Series . In 2004 he went abroad to Ademar León in the Spanish league ASOBAL . There he won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2005 , but couldn't get past Kasper Hvidt , so he moved to league rivals Bidasoa Irún in 2005, where he finally became a regular. Although he was voted the best goalkeeper in the Spanish league in 2007, he could not prevent the relegation of his team. So he switched to the SC Magdeburg Gladiators in the German handball Bundesliga , where he succeeded Johannes Bitter . Behind Silvio Heinevetter , however, he received only a few operating times, so that he moved to the Danish top club KIF Kolding in summer 2008 . With KIF he won the Danish championship in 2009. In 2011 Erevik signed a contract with league rivals Aalborg Håndbold . With Aalborg he won the championship in 2013. From summer 2015 he played for the French first division club Pays d'Aix UC . He has been under contract with the Danish first division club GOG Håndbold since the 2017/18 season . He ended his career after the 2018/19 season.
Ole Erevik has so far played 184 international matches for the Norwegian men's national handball team and also took part with Norway in the 2007 World Cup in Germany, where his team only finished in a disappointing 13th place. The 7th place at the World Cup 2005 is therefore his greatest international success. In the national team he usually has to let Steinar Ege go ahead in the goal. At the 2014 European Championships in Denmark he was eliminated after the preliminary round, but was the second best goalkeeper in the tournament in terms of percentage with 37% held balls.
