Lars Thiede (born March 19, 1970 in Berlin-Spandau ) is a German chess player with the title of International Master .

Career in chess

Thiede joined Schachfreunde Neukölln in 1988 (since 2005 Schachfreunde Berlin 1903) and subsequently played for the club in the German youth team championship and first in the Berlin regional league and later in the Oberliga Nord-Ost up to the second and (since the season 1997/98 ) first Bundesliga . He participated with the club five times (2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006) in the European Club Cup and won an individual gold medal on the fifth board in 2001 and 2002 and an individual bronze medal on the third board in 2005. He has played in the Austrian Bundesliga for ASVÖ Wulkaprodersdorf since 2010 .

In 2015 Thiede took part in the world championship in blitz chess , which he finished with 7.5 out of 21 points in 174th place.

On the occasion of the 2016 World Chess Championship , Thiede worked several times as a chess expert for the N24 broadcaster .

Private life

Thiede is an independent lawyer .
