Lars Veldwijk (born August 21, 1991 in Uithoorn ) is a Dutch football player who has been under contract with the Dutch first division club Sparta Rotterdam since 2018 .
Career
First stations
Lars Veldwijk made his debut in the 2010/11 season for the Dutch second division club FC Volendam . In the summer of 2011 he moved to the first division club FC Utrecht and played five league games for his team in the 2011/12 Eredivisie . At the beginning of the new 2012/13 season, FC Utrecht awarded him to the second-rate FC Dordrecht . Veldwijk (31 league games / 14 hits) finished the Eerste Divisie with his team as ninth in the table and aroused the interest of other clubs with his goals.
Excelsior Rotterdam
On July 1, 2013 Excelsior Rotterdam signed him for the new season. The club had only finished last season in fifteenth place, but were able to make the new 2013/14 season much more successful thanks to 30 league goals from top scorer Lars Veldwijk. As third in the regular season, Excelsior moved into the play-offs. After two wins against FC Den Bosch , the club achieved promotion to the first division after a win over RKC Waalwijk (2-0 and 2-2). Veldwijk scored four more goals in the four play-off games, increasing to 34 league goals.
Nottingham Forest
On June 12, 2014, the 22-year-old moved to English second division Nottingham Forest and signed a three-year contract. After an unsatisfactory first season in England, he was loaned to the Dutch first division club PEC Zwolle in the summer of 2015 for the 2015/16 season.
KV Kortrijk
For the 2016/17 season, Veldwijk signed a contract with KV Kortrijk. He was loaned from the Norwegian club Aalesunds FK in March 2017 until the end of the season.
Return to the Netherlands
The striker spent the 2017/18 season at FC Groningen and moved to Sparta Rotterdam a year later . Here he scored 24 goals in his first season and helped the club to rise to the Eredivisie .
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors
During the 2019/20 winter break, he moved to the South Korean first division club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors .
National team
For the South African national soccer team , Veldwijk has been allowed to play a few games so far, but he has not yet scored a goal.
