Lata is the capital of the Temotu Province in the Solomon Islands .
Infrastructure
The Temotu hospital with 46 beds is located in Lata. In addition to a post office , a telecommunications office and numerous shops, there are several hotels there .
Connections to the outside world
Lata also has a small runway for flights to Makira and Honiara . Shipping traffic is very irregular, but occasionally there are also transports to the outer islands.
