The Latin School is a listed building from the 16th century in Bernau near Berlin .

The two-storey , rectangular brick building with a hipped roof was built in the 16th century and was initially used as a traditional Latin school. Behind the 65 to 90 centimeter thick walls, boys were prepared for their studies at a university or a job as a clergyman . The building is in close proximity to the Protestant parish church of St. Marien .

Important students and teachers were the pedagogue and scientist Paulus Praetorius as well as the writer and playwright Georg Rollenhagen . In his honor there is a plaque to the right of the entrance.

The building was renovated from 1993 to 1996.
