Lauchdorf is a parish village and part of the municipality of Baisweil in the Upper Swabian district of Ostallgäu in Bavaria (Germany).

history

The first mention of the place was on April 30, 1123. Lauchdorf was called in earlier centuries "Louctorf", "Lohdorf", "Louchdorf" or "Löhdorff", which indicates a village in the Lohe. In a registry from 1384 the size of Lauchdorf is given with 6 yards, 7 farmsteads and 4 fiefdoms. In 1467 the Irsee Monastery acquired Lauchdorf with Großried from the Ursberg Monastery .

The core of the Catholic parish church of the Assumption dates from 1517 and was rebuilt around 1700 and 1902.

In 1818, through the municipal edict in Bavaria, the independent municipality of Lauchdorf with its district of Großried was created . On July 1, 1976, the community was incorporated into Baisweil.
