Laura Biagiotti [ ˈlaura bjaˈdʒɔtti ] (born August 4, 1943 in Rome ; † May 26, 2017 there ) was an Italian fashion designer .

The daughter of the manager Giuseppe Biagiotti and the tailor Delia Soldaini was born in Rome in 1943. For her dream job of archaeologist, she studied archeology and literature at the University of Rome . However, she dropped out after three years to help her mother in her fashion studio.

Career

In the 1970s, the Laura Biagiotti brand developed into one of the most famous in Europe. Your feminine Kashmir - Collections brought Biagiotti the nickname "Queen of Cashmere".

The job in her mother's studio sparked her interest in the fashion world and she soon started working as a designer. In 1972 she presented her first collection in Florence . In 1986 the advertising slogan “la tentazione firmata” could be seen in around 500 shop windows around the globe. In the same year Laura Biagiotti began designing children's, teenage, jeans and sports fashion. From then on, their clothes adorned bodies of all ages.

April 25, 1988 was probably the most important day in Biagiotti's career: 30 Chinese women presented 125 dresses from Biagiotti's history in Beijing and their collection of fine materials became world-famous.

She actually wanted to study medicine like her father, but now takes care of a large part of the business. Both lived together in a castle near Rome.

Laura Biagiotti died on May 26, 2017 after a heart attack at the age of 73.
