Laura Künzler (born December 25, 1996 in Berkeley , United States ) is a Swiss volleyball player .

Career

Künzler came to Switzerland from the United States three months after she was born. She began her career with the fourth division team Volley Neuenhof . From there she moved to VBC Kanti Baden in 2012 . In 2013 she and Dunja Gerson finished fifth in the U18 European Beach Volleyball Championship in Minsk . In autumn, she was appointed to the Swiss national team for the first time and finally decided to play indoor volleyball. In 2014, the attacker switched to the first division club Sm'Aesch Pfeffingen . In her first season she was the top scorer and best young player in the league. In the 2015/16 season she became Swiss runner-up with the club and in 2017 she won the national cup. Then she moved with her coach Timo Lippuner to the German Bundesliga club Rote Raben Vilsbiburg .
