Laura Martin (singer)
Laura Martin (born October 9, 1979 in Bad Soden ) is a German singer with Spanish roots who was the front singer of the band Captain Jack for several years from 2009 .
Life
Laura Martin grew up in Frankfurt am Main and has lived in Neu-Isenburg , a suburb south of Frankfurt, since 1997 . In 2000 she gave birth to her daughter Taleesa.
As a schoolgirl she sang in various bands and worked with the Sweetbox group , until she became the lead singer of the band Captain Jack in 2009.
In 2007, she played in the fourth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS) and qualified for the top 10 finals. In November 2011 she took part in the first season of The Voice of Germany .
With the band Spanish Music Mafia she recorded the song Suando A Camisa in 2014 on the occasion of the upcoming soccer World Cup in Brazil .
