Laura Nucci

Laura Nucci (actually Maria Laura Lodovici ; born February 26, 1913 in Carrara , † January 30, 1994 in Rome ) was an Italian actress .

Life

The elegant and curvaceous young Nucci quickly became a valued and fascinating star actress of the 1930s and 1940s after the start of her career (it started with the silent film Le leggenda di Wally by Orlando Vassallo in 1929). She mostly portrayed femmes fatales and other wicked ladies, whom she provided with ironic and attractive character traits, whereby she knew how to use her quiet voice in a clever way. Therefore, it was viewed as the Italian edition by Hollywood stars like Constance Bennett or Kay Francis . She was often cast by Alessandro Blasetti in his films.

Nucci was an often seen "second female role", especially in the years up to 1943, while in the post-war period from 1954 she dedicated herself to the character subject. She was seen (once under the pseudonym Laureen Nuyen) in commercial films with no aftermath. The sister of the comedy writer and actor Carlo Lodovici was also seen in some theater productions from the 1950s onwards, but these did not leave any lasting impressions; More important was her contribution to television, which she made from 1956 ( IL cuore e il mondo by Mario Landi ) and in which she played alongside Cesco Baseggio and (among others) under Daniele D'Anza and Franco Rossi until the end of the 1960s . After a break of many years, she was seen in several series episodes from 1983.
