Laura Schaberg (born May 5, 1860 [or 1866] in Münster , † February 16, 1935 in Haldensleben ) was a German painter.

Life

Schaberg studied painting in the Berlin painting school of the art professor Max Uth 1892–1895, in the school of the Association of Berlin Women Artists from 1895 to 1898 and the art school in Copenhagen (1898–1899).

After completing her studies, she worked as a painter and ex-libris artist in Halberstadt from 1899 to 1935 . From 1901 to 1930 she founded and directed a private painting school at Klusstrasse 1, where she ran a schoolgirl's studio. She went on study trips to Bornholm , Paris , Knokke and Zurich and had longer stays in 1903 in Ahrenshoop and in 1905 in Worpswede .

The Laura Schaberg-Weg in Halberstadt was named after her.
