Lauren Barnett (* 17th November 1984 in St. Louis as Lauren Rinck ) is an American triathlete .

Career

In 2010, Lauren Rinck started for the first time at the Ironman Hawaii in Kona, Hawaii (Ironman World Championship). She has been married to Brandon Barnett since 2011 and has been a professional athlete since 2013. Lauren Barnett is trained by Matt Smith .

Doping ban 2017

In February it became known that Lauren Barnett had been convicted of doping after an inspection in July 2016 at Ironman 70.3 Racine . Lauren Barnett denied all guilt and said she was the victim of an act of sabotage. The ban was subsequently reduced to half a year.

In January 2017, Barnett announced that she was expecting a child in May. In September 2018, the then 33-year-old finished third at the Ironman 70.3 Augusta .
