Lauri Vuorinen (born January 1, 1995 in Perniö ) is a Finnish cross-country skier .

Career

Vuorinen started mainly in junior races until 2015. He was Finnish junior sprint champion in Kemi in 2012 and Imatra in 2015 . The following year he won the bronze medal in the sprint at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2013 in Brașov . He ran his first World Cup race in March 2013 in Lahti , which he finished in 60th place in the sprint. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2014 in Val di Fiemme , fifth place in the relay and fourth place in the sprint were his best results. In February 2015, he achieved sixth place in the sprint and fourth place in the relay at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Almaty . At the beginning of the 2015/16 season he got his first World Cup points at the Nordic Opening in Ruka , which he finished in 79th place, with 29th place in the sprint stage. At the U23 World Championships in 2016 in Râşnov , he finished 30th over 15 km freestyle, 21st place in sprint and ninth place over 15 km classic. In the 2017/18 season he achieved 26th place over 15 km classic and 17th place in the sprint at the 2018 U23 World Championships in Goms and 29th place in the sprint at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , he finished 34th in the sprint.
