The Longines Masters of Lausanne is an international horse show that will be held in Lausanne in June . The tournament is advertised as CSI  5 *, the highest category in show jumping . The venue is the Place de Bellerive, which is located in the immediate vicinity of Lake Geneva .

Tournament history

The CSI 5 * in Lausanne is a fairly young tournament with an eventful development. The tournament first took place in September 2012. From 2012 to 2014 it was called the Lausanne International Horse Show . The main stage of the tournament, the Grand Prix on Saturday, was a stop on the Global Champions Tour during these years .

After a one-year break, another CSI 5 * tournament was held in September 2016. Now called the International Longines Horse Show of Lausanne , the tournament took place twice. The tournament of the year 2018 was removed from the FEI calendar in spring by the Swiss Equestrian Federation , as the organizers had not paid debts for fees despite the deadlines set.

A third attempt was made in 2019: the new organizer is EEM World, and Longines is again the title sponsor . The organizer changed the name of the tournament to Longines Masters of Lausanne and adapted the tournament schedule to the three existing tournaments of the Longines Masters Grand Slam . The main tests of the CSI 5 * tour, known as Masters One, are a jumping competition with jump-off (height 1.55 meters) on Friday, a highly endowed time jumping test on Saturday and the Grand Prix.

Grand Prix

The Lausanne Grand Prix is the main stage of the tournament. As usual in the Global Champions Tour, it was held on Saturday for the first three years. Since 2016 it has been held on the afternoon of the last day of the tournament. In 2019, the examination was endowed with 300,000 euros. This is a jumping competition with jump-offs with obstacle heights of up to 1.60 meters.
