history

The first record of Lauterhof comes from 1808 and in the Bavarian original cadastre it appears as a four-sided farm in the 1810s . At that time, however, the wasteland was called the Lauerhof . "Lauerhof", however, is a hearing defect that probably stems from the careless pronunciation of the letter "t". The place has been called "Lauterhof" since it was founded in 1790. The name of the place comes from the combination of "Lauter", the stream on which the wilderness lies, and "Hof", which describes the agricultural background of the district. Agriculture was already practiced on the property of the Lauterhof before the desert was founded, but the goods were loaned to farmers from neighboring communities. There is evidence that the courtyard house, which is still preserved today, dates from 1814 and replaced the house that had existed since 1790. At that time, 16 people lived in Lauterhof, all of whom were family members.

Today the Lauterhof is still used for agriculture. At the same time, a gastronomic use had been established, but it has been closed again since 2015.
