Lavatory Lovestory is a Russian animated short film directed by Konstantin Bronsit in 2007. The film opened in Russian cinemas on March 2, 2007.

The cleaning lady of a public toilet sits in her cubicle every day, empties the small mayonnaise jar in which she collects the change for using the toilet, eats her cuts shortly before 12 and then cleans the toilet room. Otherwise she reads the Happy Woman newspaper and feels lonely. When she returned from cleaning the toilet one day, there was a bouquet of red flowers in a mayonnaise jar. She is confused, takes it out of the jar when nobody can throw more money in it, puts it back in and throws it in the trash at some point. Shortly afterwards there is a bouquet with blue flowers on her counter, later one with yellow ones. The cleaning lady runs through each cabin with the yellow flowers in search of the person who brings the flowers and even throws a customer into the toilet bowl, from which she has to pull him out.

Since the woman cannot find the bringer of the flowers - even a trace of red flowers leading outside does not bring any result - she becomes sad and begins to cry. However, she soon sees a fresh footprint that leads to a toilet cubicle. A petal flies under the door and in the cabin is the man whom the woman accidentally pushed into the toilet bowl. There are petals all around him, embarrassed he holds out two half-torn flowers. She hugs him enthusiastically and all the petals are whirled in the air. A little later both of them are sitting in the woman's cabin, reading a newspaper and next to the mayonnaise glass for the money they also have a ketchup glass with flowers in it. In the meantime, the cleaning man is missing in the ladies' toilet, apologizing with a sign - it is the cleaning woman's new lover.

Awards

Lavatory Lovestory was nominated for an Oscar in the category “ Best Animated Short Film ” in 2009, but could not prevail against Tsumiki no Ie .
