The Buffalo Americans were an American ice hockey team based in Buffalo , New York . The team played in the American Hockey Association from 1930 to 1932 .

The franchise was founded in 1930 as the American Hockey Association's expansion team under the name Buffalo Americans. In their debut season , the team finished fourth in the regular season and barely missed the playoffs. On February 3, 1931, the team was renamed Buffalo Majors. In the 1931/32 season , the majors had to withdraw from the AHA game operations for financial reasons after completing 24 games and the franchise was dissolved.
