Omaha Knights (1939-1951)

The Omaha Knights were a professional ice hockey club based in Omaha , Nebraska . The minor league team was in the American Hockey Association (AHA) from 1939 to 1942 and returned to the ice after an interruption during World War II in 1945, where they played in the United States Hockey League until 1951 . Most famous player was Gordie Howe , who played for the Knights in the 1945/46 season.

Another team was founded in Omaha in 1959 under the same name . There is also a risk of confusion with the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights .
