The St. Paul Saints were an American ice hockey team from Saint Paul , Minnesota . The team played between 1925 and 1951 in the American Hockey Association, among others .
history
The franchise was founded in 1925 as a member of the one-time amateur league Central Hockey League. The team then joined the professional American Hockey Association , where they initially played for four years. From 1931 to 1935, the team ran in the competing professional league Central Hockey League . After this was dissolved, the Saints returned to the American Hockey Association and competed in this until the league dissolution in 1942. From 1945 to 1951, the Saints played in the successor league of the AHA, in the newly formed United States Hockey League . The team won the USHL championship title in the 1948/49 season. When the USHL was dissolved following the 1950/51 season , the Saints also finally stopped playing.
A team of the same name played in the International Hockey League from 1959 to 1963 .
