The Fort Worth Rangers were an American ice hockey team based in Fort Worth , Texas . The team played between 1941 and 1949 in the American Hockey Association and the United States Hockey League .
history
The franchise was founded in 1941 as the American Hockey Association's expansion team . In the 1941/42 season , its premiere season, the team finished second in the South Division in the regular season. Then they failed in the second playoff round. After the season, the AHA was dissolved and the Rangers temporarily suspended the game. When the United States Hockey League was founded in 1945 as a successor to the AHA, the Rangers were also reactivated and played there until the team was finally disbanded following the 1948/49 season .
