Lavonte David (* 23 January 1990 in Miami , Florida ) is an American American football poker players in the National Football League (NFL). He plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a linebacker .

college

David initially wanted to attend Middle Tennessee State University , but then decided to go to Fort Scott Community College . He later moved to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and played for their team, the Cornhuskers, as a linebacker in 2009 and 2010. In 27 games he was able to set 285 tackles and achieve 11.5 sacks .

NFL

In the 2012 NFL Draft , he was selected in the 2nd round as the 58th player of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers . David was able to establish himself immediately and was a starter in all games in his rookie season . In the following seasons he blossomed into a pillar of the Buccaneers defense.

In 2013 he was able to achieve a safety against the Miami Dolphins .

In 2015 he signed a new five-year contract for $ 50.25 million with a guaranteed amount of $ 25.56 million. He was also able to achieve his first touchdown and was appointed to the Pro Bowl for the first time .

In 2016 he managed another touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks .
